No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream Review

BB creams have been making their way onto the shelves over here in the UK and I have tried one or two. I had a £5 voucher off any No7 product so thought I would give this a try. I matched myself to the medium colour

Although there are only two colours (yes very limited!), I like that they have formulas for normal/oily skin, normal/dry, and dry/very dry skin. So there's definitely a selection for most skin types. I chose bb cream for normal/oily skin because it was closest match for my skin.

On first impressions the box looks sleek and instantly I can see there is a spf of 15. This is standard for the bb creams on the Western market, although I don't think this is enough and would prefer higher protection.

The formula feels like a thick moisturiser so you probably don't need to apply any cream before hand. A little goes a long way so a pea sized a mount is all you need to cover the entire face.

It blends well into skin and looks natural. At first it looked and felt quite greasy, which I was surprised about considering its for normal/oily skin. However, once rubbed in and set with a translucent powder it looked much better and did last most of the day, with some touch ups. I'm an NC30 in MAC terms, and on my face the bb cream looks darker than my skin colour, although it isn't very noticeable. I think it would be more suited to NC35 skin tone or for summer when I'm tanned.

Conclusion

I have mixed feelings about this. One one hand it does provide amazing coverage for a bb cream, and doesn't leave you with a grey cast which can happen with some Asian bb creams. However, on the negative it does require a primer underneath if you have oily skin, which kind of defeats the function of a bb cream. I would classify this more as a tinted moisturiser with pretty good coverage but definitely worth a try.

Have you tried this? If so please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts :)
