Review: MAC Brush Cleanser

I prefer conditioner or washing up liquid to wash my makeup brushes as they do a great job of keeping them squeaky clean. Therefore I wouldn't usually go out and purchase something like this, but seeing as it was a gift from my sister of course I had to try it.

The formula has a very strong alcoholic smell- quite clinical and is pink in colour. Once shaken foam is created inside the bottle. Anyway I'm afraid that's about exciting as it gets...

When shaken, foam is created inside the bottle

When it came to washing my makeup brushes, no lather was created so I didn't feel like it was working. Maybe it does a great job of disinfecting and removing the germs, but I feel like hot water and washing up liquid performs better.

TIP: Do not wash your makeup brushes with very hot water as this can loosen the glue, which binds the brush together (I found this out with my Sleek contouring brush)

Conclusion

MAC makeup is generally very good, however this product does not live up to its hype. Therefore I will definitely not be purchasing once I run out, I'll stick to conditioner or fairy liquid for a squeaky clean without the expensive price tag. In short-do not waste your money purchasing this!
