I love aloe vera gel for minor skin irritations and as an after sun gel. I'm currently using this one from Holland and Barret's which is 99.9% natural and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Recently I have been using the gel before my moisturiser both in the morning and at night. I have combination skin that is oily on the t-zone but also dry (odd I know), so can not leave the house without powder at least! I have repeated the process for around five days now and have noticed that the gel acts as a matifier. The open pores on my face are less visible and my skin feels moisturised. This helps my makeup to last much longer without sinking into the pores. I also feel that my skin has cleared up a lot because of the gel!
It's a great base for makeup, dries quickly and doesn't flake at all! Other uses for this gel are as a skin soother after threading and for cuts. I can not live without this product and have made it a must have in my beauty bag!
